• Level 9 salary: $107,203 – $113,113 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Principal Planning Officer to lead and support a diverse range of planning functions across the Shire of Dardanup. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to strategic growth in one of WA’s most dynamic regions.

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert planning advice to Council, the community, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead and supervise the Planning team, fostering professional development and best practice.
• Manage and assess development applications, scheme amendments, and structure plans in line with local and state planning frameworks.
• Contribute to planning initiatives, including the review of Local Planning Schemes, Planning Policies, and Developer Contribution Plans.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to ensure integrated planning outcomes.
• Prepare high-quality reports and recommendations for Council.

About You:

• Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in planning roles with a strong understanding of WA planning legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
