Bushfire Advice – Millbridge and Waterloo

The alert level for this incident has been downgraded to a Bushfire Advice as the fire has been contained and controlled.

A Bushfire Advice remains in place for people in the area bounded by Millbridge Boulevard, Clayton View, Clifton Road, Hynes Road, Evolution Loop, Illawarra Drive and Murchison Parade in Millbridge and Waterloo within the Shire of Dardanup.

There is currently no threat to lives or homes, but you should continue to monitor conditions.

What You Need to Do

  • Stay alert and monitor your surroundings.
  • Review your bushfire plan. If you do not have one, create one at emergency.wa.gov.au/plan or via the Emergency WA app.
  • Watch for signs of fire including smoke and flames.
  • Close all doors and windows. Turn off evaporative air conditioners but keep water running through the system if possible.
  • If you have a respiratory condition and are affected by smoke, contact your doctor or call Health Direct on 1800 022 222.

If driving:

  • Turn on headlights and drive slowly.
  • Follow the directions of emergency services personnel.
  • If visibility is poor, pull over safely, leave headlights and hazard lights on, and wait for conditions to improve.

Bushfire Behaviour

  • The fire is stationary, contained and under control.
  • Approximately 15 hectares have burnt.

Road Closures

Several roads remain closed, including:

  • Forrest Highway between Grand Entrance and Eaton Drive.

Motorists should avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully. Road information is available from Main Roads WA.

Firefighting Efforts

  • Firefighters are patrolling the area and conducting mopping‑up operations.
  • Aerial support has been released from the incident.
