Hard waste verge-side collection

Dates for the 2025 Hard Waste Collections (in the townsites of Eaton, Millbridge, Burekup and Dardanup):

Eaton and Millbridge:
Monday, 21 July – Saturday, 26 July 2025.

Burekup and Dardanup:
Monday, 28 July – Saturday, 2 August 2025.

Please do not place your hard waste on the verge more than one week prior to collections commencing to avoid creation of litter issues. This can especially become a problem during the winter months as a result of storms and high winds.

We will collect:

  • Washing machines and dryers
  • Mattresses
  • Fridges, freezers and air-conditioners that have been de-gassed (fridge doors must be removed - Shire contractor will de-gas)
  • Please note that our contractor will de-gas however doors must be removed.
  • General junk, lounges, cupboards, furniture, bedding
  • Garden furniture, barbecues and
  • Material less than 1.5 metres in length.

We cannot collect: 

  • Bricks and rubble
  • Household food waste
  • Flammable liquids, hazardous chemicals
  • Cars, car tyres or batteries
  • Asbestos products
  • Oils, paints, solvents or liquids.

Important reminders: 

  • Place your items on the verge no more than one week before collection to avoid litter issues, especially with winter storms.
  • All items must be out by 6.00am on the first collection day. Council is unable to provide exact collection days or times. Whilst E-Waste will be collected during the Hard Waste Collection, it will need to be taken to the Transfer Station to be recycled once the collection is complete as it can’t be disposed of in normal bins.

Note: The new hard waste collection dates are finalised in late January each year.

Green Waste verge-side collection

Dates for the 2025 Green Waste collections (in the townsites of Eaton, Millbridge, Burekup and Dardanup):

Autumn:
Monday, 12 May – Wednesday, 21 May 2025.

Spring:
Monday, 20 October – Saturday, 25 October 2025.

We will collect:

  • Tree and shrub cuttings up to 2 cubic metres
  • Maximum length 1.5m
  • Maximum diameter 200mm

We cannot collect:

  • Lawn clippings or roll on turf
  • Green waste placed in bags or boxes
  • Hard waste including timber
  • Stumps
  • Excessively large piles of green waste (greater than 2 cubic meters)

Important reminders: 

  • All green waste must be placed on the verge prior to 6.00am of the first collection day. Council is unable to provide exact collection days or times.
  • 100% of green waste collected is recycled into wood chip and mulch – helping your garden and our environment.
  • Please keep all waste clear of reticulation, water mains, electrical domes, footpaths, street signs and street corners.
  • The property owner is responsible for maintaining the waste piles in a safe condition and in a manner that does not cause litter.
  • Waste shall only be placed on the owners property.  Uncollected material remains the responsibility of the property owner/occupier to remove.
  • Streets will only be serviced once. Green waste placed out AFTER the collection date or not collected remains the responsibility of the owner to remove.
