The Shire of Dardanup will enter its Unrestricted Burning Period from midnight, Saturday 10 May 2025.
Here's some important information on what that means for residents now:
Burning permits no longer required
From this date, you may burn without a permit — however, important conditions still apply to ensure community safety.
Before burning, you must:
- Check the Fire Danger Rating – burning is not permitted if the rating is High or above or if a Total Fire Ban is declared.
- Be mindful of smoke impacts, especially on smaller residential blocks. Burning is not permitted on land under 2000m².
- Register your burn with DFES via www.dfes.wa.gov.au
- Comply with relevant health and fire safety legislation.
Burning periods and restrictions can change depending on seasonal conditions — always check before you burn.
