Community to have their say on Eaton Foreshore plan

The Shire of Dardanup is inviting residents to provide feedback on a new concept plan that outlines a vibrant and exciting future for one of the community’s most loved public spaces – the Eaton Foreshore.

Shire President Cr Tyrrell Gardiner said the draft Eaton Foreshore Concept Plan was developed in collaboration between Council and the Eaton Foreshore Working Group – a collection of key stakeholders and community representatives who brought local knowledge and passion to the table.

Cr Gardiner said the concept plan represents a shared vision for the precinct that aims to balance recreation, events, sport and natural beauty.

“This is your chance to help shape the future of the Eaton Foreshore. I encourage everyone to take a look at the plan and share their thoughts,” Cr Gardiner said.

“The Eaton Foreshore has always been a special place for our community – a place where families gather, children play, and events bring people together.

“Through the Working Group, we’ve heard from passionate locals and sporting groups about what they love and what could make this space even better.

“The result is a concept plan that’s rich with ideas – from upgraded sporting courts and improved lighting, to more seating under shady trees and a brand-new rowing club facility. We’ve also included infrastructure upgrades to support community events and improve accessibility for all.

“Now we want to hear from the wider community. Your feedback will help refine and finalise the plan, ensuring it meets the needs of all users – now and into the future.”

The 38 proposed improvements identified in the draft plan are based on the Eaton Place Plan 2023 with input from the Eaton Foreshore Working Group and the Shire of Dardanup. These include:

  • Additional parking bays and overflow parking.
  • A new rowing club facility.
  • Passive traffic calming measures to Pratt Road.
  • Upgraded tennis, pickleball and padel courts.
  • A new water play park.
  • Lighting and safety upgrades across sporting and pedestrian areas.
  • Seating, signage, festival infrastructure and exercise equipment.
  • Alterations to Eaton Hall and new event spaces.
  • Improvements to drainage, irrigation, shelters, toilets and pathways.

Cr Gardiner said once all community feedback has been received, it will be reviewed and incorporated into a final version of the concept plan, which will be presented to Council for consideration at the June 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting.

He said the community is invited to view the concept plan and provide feedback by 4pm on Friday, 9 May 2025 via an online survey at:
