Welcome to the Introduction to Sewing - Make-It Space workshop series! If you've always wanted to learn how to sew, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Join Corenne from Creative & Co for this 4-part workshop series starting Tuesday, 10 June 2025.
This workshop series promises to be a fun, practical and educational experience. Every session is hands-on and you'll learn the basics of sewing on your own machine! Whether you're a complete beginner or just looking to brush up on your skills, these workshops are perfect for all levels and open to anyone aged 12+.
All sessions are BYO sewing machine. All other materials provided.
Places for this workshop are very limited. Please do not book into sessions you are unable to attend. If you can no longer attend a session, please cancel your booking via Eventbrite or contact us so your spot can be re-allocated to someone on the waitlist.
As each session builds up your knowledge and skills, we ask that you book into to all 4 sessions to get the most out of this series.

Session 1: Introduction to Sewing
Tuesday, 10 June
Understand basic sewing techniques, basic stitches, threading, tension and machine safety. BYO sewing machine and get a better understanding of how it works and what it can do.
Session 2: Sew a Tote Bag
Tuesday, 17 June
Participants will sew their own tote bag with guidance and support. Pre-cut pattern and materials supplied.
Session 3: Create a Cushion Cover
Tuesday, 24 June
Participants learn how to use a sewing pattern to cut out and create a cushion cover. Fabric and pattern will be supplied.
Session 4: Extend Skills and Showcase Projects
Tuesday, 1 July
Participants can complete and show their projects, discuss any challenges and start on a new project to continue at home or at the Make-It Space.
