TEAM LEADER NATURAL AREAS
The opportunity:
- Full-time permanent position
- Level 5 | $80,543 - $86,816 per annum
- Located at the Shire of Dardanup Depot
Are you passionate about protecting and enhancing the natural environment? Do you thrive leading teams and delivering practical environmental outcomes?
We are seeking a motivated, self-driven and hands-on Team Leader Natural Areas to lead our Natural Areas team in the management, maintenance and rehabilitation of the Shire's natural reserves, wetlands, bushland and environmentally sensitive areas.
In this rewarding role, you will coordinate daily operations, supervise field staff, and contribute to the conservation and enhancement of some of the Shire's most valued environmental assets. Working closely with the Parks & Environment team, you will help deliver environmental programs and projects that support biodiversity, sustainability and community wellbeing.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities and priorities of the Natural Areas team.
- Undertake and oversee natural area maintenance, rehabilitation and conservation works.
- Coordinate the safe operation and maintenance of plant, equipment and vehicles.
- Monitor and inspect natural reserves, identifying and actioning maintenance and improvement requirements.
- Liaise with contractors, community groups, government agencies and stakeholders.
- Promote a strong safety culture and provide leadership, guidance and support to team members.
About you:
- Motivated, proactive and capable of working independently while leading a high-performing team.
- Qualifications in Conservation and Land Management, Horticulture or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading field-based operational teams.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience operating plant and machinery within parks, environmental or land management settings.
- A genuine passion for environmental management and natural resource conservation.
