The opportunity:

  • Permanent full-time 76 hours per fortnight with monthly RDO or nine-day fortnight option.
  • Level 6/7 - salary range $85,507 - $98,967* per annum depending upon qualifications & experience.
  • Located at our Eaton Administration Centre.

 

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated engineering technical officer to join our Infrastructure Directorate. In this role, you will contribute to the development of engineering concepts, designs, project documentation and technical advice that support the Shire’s capital works program—including roads, drainage, pathways, buildings, parks and other municipal infrastructure.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, undertaking hands‑on design tasks using their experience and CAD skills and managing consultants, stakeholders and internal teams to support the delivery of practical, safe and cost‑effective engineering solutions.

 

Key duties include:

  • Develop concepts, designs, drawings and project documentation for capital works projects across roads, drainage, pathways, buildings, parks and reserves.
  • Prepare cost estimates and support annual budgeting by extracting quantities, applying unit rates and providing technical inputs.
  • Investigate infrastructure issues, coordinate surveys, geotechnical investigations, etc., analyse and recommend practical and cost‑effective engineering solutions.
  • Engage, coordinate and manage specialist design consultants
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, public authorities, developers, utilities, community members and external agencies on design and public works matters.
  • Maintain the Shire’s drawing registers and standards, and provide project progress updates to the Manager Infrastructure Planning & Design.
