QUALIFIED VACATION CARE LEADERS AND NON-QUALIFIED VACATION CARE ASSISTANTS

Eaton Recreation Centre (ERC) is seeking enthusiastic, caring and energetic individuals to join our Expression of Interest Pool for future Vacation Care opportunities (starting these upcoming September/October holidays).

Our Vacation Care program provides children with a safe, engaging and enjoyable environment during school holidays through a variety of activities, excursions, games and experiences. We're seeking both Qualified Vacation Care Leaders and Vacation Care Assistants to support the delivery of these programs.
About the Roles
Vacation Care Leader (Qualified)
The Vacation Care Leader is responsible for leading the delivery of the Vacation Care program, including planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, supporting programming, supervising children and providing day-to-day guidance to Vacation Care Assistants. The Leader will help ensure the program provides engaging experiences that support children's development, wellbeing and social connection, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance and quality care.
Vacation Care Assistant (Unqualified)
The Vacation Care Assistant works alongside the Vacation Care Leader to support the delivery of programmed activities and experiences, supervise children and contribute to a safe, positive and engaging environment.
Assistants will support the Leader with activities, games, excursions and general program operations, while building positive relationships with children and helping ensure their wellbeing and safety throughout the day.

- Competitive Vacation Care Leader casual rate of $42-45 per hour* dependent on experience.
- Competitive Vacation Care Assistant casual rate of $34 per hour* dependent on experience.
What We’re Looking For
We're looking for caring, energetic and responsible people who enjoy working with children and are passionate about creating positive experiences for our community.
Vacation Care Leader (Qualified)
We're looking for someone who can confidently take responsibility for the delivery of the Vacation Care program and support the team to provide high-quality experiences for children.
You will ideally have:
- A current Working With Children Check, First Aid and CPR certification.
- A qualification in Children's Studies, Education or a similar field (Certificate III or higher).
- Experience supervising children aged 5 to 12 years.
- Experience planning, programming and facilitating activities for children aged 5 to 12 years.
- The ability to support and guide Vacation Care Assistants and contribute to effective day-to-day team operations.
- A genuine passion for child development, social development and community wellbeing.
- Current Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification will be highly regarded.
- Previous Vacation Care experience and experience as a Certified Supervisor or Nominated Supervisor will be highly regarded.
Vacation Care Assistant (Unqualified)
We're looking for enthusiastic and caring people who enjoy working with children and are keen to support the delivery of fun, engaging and safe Vacation Care experiences.
You will ideally have:
- A current Working With Children Check.
- Experience supervising or working with children aged 5 to 12 years.
- The ability to work as part of a team and support the Vacation Care Leader with programming, activities and supervision.
- A positive, energetic and responsible approach to working with children.
- A genuine passion for child development, social development and community wellbeing.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification and/or a qualification in Children's Studies will be highly regarded.
About the Expression of Interest Pool
This pool allows you to register your interest in future opportunities at ERC. Applications will remain active until 30 June 2027, and suitable applicants may be contacted as vacancies arise.
