A big milestone for our region today with work now underway on the State Government’s $55 million Advanced Manufacturing Technology Hub (AMTECH) in Picton, a major step forward in driving economic diversification across the South West.
While this is a State initiative, the Shire of Dardanup has been a strong advocate for AMTECH and the opportunities it will bring for local businesses, jobs and future growth.
Shire President Cr Tyrrell Gardiner was onsite today at Giorgi Road, Picton with Minister for Energy and Decarbonisation and Manufacturing Amber-Jade Sanderson, South West Minister Don Punch and Collie-Preston MLA Jodie Hanns to mark the start of works.
This project will help position our region at the forefront of advanced manufacturing and renewable energy, supporting local jobs, training pathways and a stronger, more resilient economy.
Today is a positive day for not just our Shire, but the entire South West.
