The Shire of Dardanup acknowledges the passing of former Councillor and Shire President Danny Harris, whose dedication to the community has left a lasting legacy.
Danny served on the Shire of Dardanup Council from 1988 to 1995, including as Shire President from 1992 to 1995, before returning to Council in 2011 and serving until 2018.
Throughout his years of service, he was a passionate advocate for community facilities, local sport and the continued growth of our district.
A lifelong supporter of the Eaton Football Club, Danny played an important role in supporting the club's relocation to Glen Huon Reserve during his time on Council, helping lay the foundation for the sporting facilities enjoyed by the community today.
He will be remembered for his passion for local sport and his longstanding dedication to community service.
The Shire of Dardanup extends its sincere condolences to Danny's family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
Flags at the Eaton Shire office will be at half-mast on Friday, 17 July to mark Danny’s service and the day of his funeral at Dardanup.
