Tree removal planned to improve safety at Millbridge and Eaton intersection

The Shire of Dardanup will remove three gum trees at the intersection of Millbridge Boulevard and Eaton Drive this week, following growing safety concerns raised by the community.

Shire President Cr Tyrrell Gardiner said the trees, located on the north side of the intersection, are impeding sight lines for motorists exiting Millbridge Boulevard onto Eaton Drive, creating a potential risk for road users.

Cr Gardiner said the decision was made after receiving several requests from residents and considering road safety as the highest priority.

“We understand how important trees are to our community, however in this instance the safety of motorists must come first,” Cr Gardiner said.

“The reduced visibility at this intersection has been raised multiple times, and removing these trees will significantly improve sight lines and reduce the risk of accidents.”

The Shire will engage a contractor to carry out the works, with a traffic management plan and appropriate signage in place to minimise disruption.

Road users are encouraged to take care in the area during the works and follow all signage.
