The Shire of Dardanup is continuing its commitment to creating a safe and connected community with the construction of three new pedestrian crossings in Eaton, as part of its 2025/26 Capital Works Program.
Works are scheduled to start on Monday, 3 November, and will include the installation of two crossings along Eaton Drive and one on Recreation Drive.
The project has been awarded to Jetline Kerbing Contractors and is expected to take about five to six days to complete. Jetline will begin work on the Eaton Drive crossings before progressing to Recreation Drive.
Shire President Tyrrell Gardiner said the new crossings will enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians travelling through Eaton’s busy streets.
“These crossings will provide safer connections between key community spaces, helping families, students, and residents travel with confidence,” Cr Gardiner said.
“It’s another step towards our vision of building a safe, inclusive, and well-connected Shire.”
A Traffic Management Plan will be in place throughout construction to ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and workers.
“Thank you to everyone for your understanding as we carry out these important works to make Eaton safer for pedestrians,” Cr Gardiner said.
“We ask drivers to slow down, stay alert and follow the signage to keep everyone safe.”
