Stage one: Henty Road shoulder sealing and linemarking upgrades

Published on Tuesday, 21 April 2026 at 11:39:34 AM

Planned shoulder sealing and linemarking with audible centreline and edgeline works will soon begin on Henty Road, made possible through funding from the Regional Road Safety Program and the Australian Government Black Spot Program.

The works are being delivered by Fulton Hogan. Stage one will be carried out mainly between Guimelli Road and Pile Road, commencing Tuesday, 28 April 2026 and expected to be completed by mid-June 2026. Stage two is for the remainder of the road, and will commence after the winter season, with the full project expected to be completed by December 2026.

What to expect:

  • Stage one works commence Tuesday, 28 April and are expected to be completed by mid-June 2026.  The works area is generally located between Guimelli Road and Pile Road.
  • Stage two is for the remainder of the road and will commence after the winter season, with the full project expected to be completed by December 2026.
  • Henty Road will remain open throughout the project with lane closures in place and some queuing anticipated.
  • Full traffic management will be in operation. Please follow all signage on site to ensure the safety of workers and other road users.
  • Please do not enter the works area for your own safety.

If you use Henty Road regularly, please allow a little extra travel time during this period and follow the direction of all traffic management signage while works are underway.

Funding for the project is being provided through a combination of Australian and Western Australian Government programs.

The Regional Road Safety Program is contributing $2.9 million toward shoulder widening and the installation of audible centre and edge lines along the full length of Henty Road over 2025-26 and 2026-27.

A further $284,073 through the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program will fund seal widening works at priority curves, along with new pavement markings, signage and delineation works this financial year.

Thanks for your patience as this important road upgrade is delivered.
