Due to unseasonal weather conditions, the Shire of Dardanup’s Prohibited Burning Period has been brought forward two weeks to today, Friday, 1 December 2023, in accordance with the Bush Fires Act.

This means that all burning in the open is prohibited until 14 March each year, but this is subject to change.

Section 17 (7) of the Bush Fires Act 1954 enables Local Government to vary the Prohibited Burning Period due to seasonal conditions.
