The Shire of Dardanup has entered its annual Restricted Burning Period, which runs until 14 December 2026.

The 2026-27 burning periods are:

  • Restricted Burning Period:
    2 November to 14 December 2026.

  • Prohibited Burning Period:
    15 December 2026 to 14 March 2027.

  • Restricted Burning Period:
    15 March to 8 May 2027.

If you're planning to burn garden waste, light a bonfire, undertake pasture burning or burn bushland on private property, you'll need a permit from your local Fire Control Officer before you get started.

What doesn't need a permit?

You can still enjoy:

  • Outdoor BBQs.
  • Pizza ovens.
  • Fire pits.

Just ensure the area around them is clear of flammable material and that embers cannot escape and ignite nearby vegetation.

If you're camping in areas managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), additional rules may apply, including restrictions on campfire use and designated fire pits.
