Restricted Burning Period commences Saturday, 11 April 2026

The Prohibited Burning Period will end at midnight on Friday, 10 April 2026. From Saturday, 11 April 2026, the Shire of Dardanup will enter its Restricted Burning Period, which will remain in effect until Saturday, 25 April 2026, subject to extension.

You WILL need a fire permit to:

  • Light a bonfire.
  • Burn garden waste.
  • Clear pasture through burning.
  • Burn private bushland.

Permits can be obtained from your local Fire Control Officer:

You DON'T need a permit for:

  • Outdoor barbeques.
  • Pizza ovens.
  • Fire pits.

Just remember to clear the surrounding area of flammable materials to prevent stray embers from igniting nearby vegetation.

Campfire restrictions in DBCA-controlled areas:

If you're camping in areas managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), additional rules may apply, including limits on campfire timing and the use of designated fire pits only.
