Project Update: Dardanup Civic Precinct

Heavy weekend rain hasn’t slowed progress on a transformation occurring in the centre of Dardanup.

Creation of a picturesque Civic Precinct connecting the town’s main street, town and hall to Carramar Park through the former volunteer fire brigade and depot site is now well underway.

We were particularly excited last week to see three mature claret ash and three mature golden ash trees installed in their new home after being removed from Ferguson Road about two years ago.

The trees have been cared for by staff at our Shire Depot until they could be transplanted to a new location.

Remaining earthworks, site preparation and drainage installation is expected to be finished early next week by our contractor LD Total.

The next step will be installation of reticulation and paths.

The completed precinct will include landscaping, pathways, an art installation, seating and nature play trail.

This Dardanup Depot Revitalisation project is being delivered in partnership with RAC, through its Reconnect WA initiative, which aims to create vibrant streets and public spaces for Western Australians to interact and connect with each other.

The project is scheduled for completion by the end of December, 2022.
