A Public Notice regarding proposed changes to plans for future development in Parkridge Estate has been receiving some commentary from the community.
In addition to providing some information to assist with clarification of the proposed changes, we will also continue to accept late submissions on the 42-day Public Comment period which has now ended.
The Shire has received an application from developers for an Amendment to the Parkridge Estate Structure Plan.
The Structure Plan area includes Lots 9008 and 9503 Peninsula Lakes Drive and Lot 9504 Leichester Ramble, Eaton.
The area being considered for change does not cover or affect an existing area of public open space in Parkridge Estate abutting Peninsula Lakes, Holstein Drive, Rayland Avenue and Glenhuon Boulevard.
This proposed amendment refers to an undeveloped area further north of the existing park.
The proposed change would remove a future planned area of Public Open Space identified in the previously approved Structure Plan shown below in green.

Under the proposed change the space would instead be used for residential development at a density coding of R20-40 as shown below in the proposed Structure Plan with Amendment.

The homestead lot (Lot 9504) is included with a residential density coding of R5; and the density coding on Lots 169 and 170 Robusta Road is identified as R40.
Shire Staff are required to process the application once received under Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations 2015.
Processing the application includes investigation by staff along with a period of public advertising. Any submissions received will inform Staff recommendations to Council which will then consider the proposal and make a recommendation to the WA Planning Commission.
Plans and documents setting out and explaining the Structure Plan may be viewed at Council Offices – 3 Little Street, Dardanup and 1 Council Drive, Eaton or here on our website.
Comments on the proposal should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and submitted in writing to the Chief Executive Officer, Shire of Dardanup, PO Box 7016 EATON WA 6232 or via email to submissions@dardanup.wa.gov.au.
Late submissions will be accepted until 4.00pm, 24 August, 2023.
