Works kick off tomorrow (Wednesday, 25 March) at Glen Huon Oval as part of a major lighting and scoreboard upgrade.
Over the next three days, contractors will be on site completing:
- Site survey and set-out.
- Installation of new cables and pits.
- Construction of light tower footings.
Temporary restrictions will apply to parts of the oval during these works.
This project is fully funded through a State Election commitment, administered by the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, and will provide upgraded lighting and a new electronic scoreboard for the Eaton Football Club.
Once footings are complete, works will pause and resume in mid-May for installation of the light towers and final commissioning.
While originally planned for completion before the 2026 AFL season, extended supply lead times shifted completion to May.
The Shire is working closely with the Eaton Football Club to minimise impacts to training during construction.
We appreciate your patience as we deliver these upgrades for our community.
