The Shire of Dardanup extends its sincere thanks to our local volunteer firefighters who have worked tirelessly to protect lives, property and the environment during what has been a challenging bushfire season.
Chief Fire Control Officer Chris Hynes said crews have been responding to multiple incidents across the region since early December, with recent fires at Boddington, Stanley Road and Wellesley keeping volunteers exceptionally busy over the Christmas and New Year period.
With more than 45 years in the industry, Chris said he is incredibly proud to work alongside such dedicated and professional crews.
“There are hundreds of volunteer firefighters who have given up time with their families, often in extreme conditions, to keep our communities safe,” he said.
“Their commitment and teamwork has been outstanding.”
He said volunteer firefighters play a critical role in emergency response across the Shire, often balancing full-time work, family life and community commitments while remaining ready to respond at any time.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed and monitor current fire conditions and warnings via the Department of Fire and Emergency Services website at www.emergency.wa.gov.au
The Shire thanks every volunteer firefighter and supporting agency for their dedication, resilience and service to our community.
