A Harvest and Movement of Vehicles in Paddocks Ban will be in effect for the Shire of Dardanup from midnight on Christmas Eve, Wednesday 24 December until 3pm on Boxing Day, Friday, 26 December 2025.
This ban is implemented under the Bush Fires Act 1954 Regulation 24C to protect our community during this high-risk period.
Activities prohibited during this ban include:
- Harvesting operations.
- “Hot works” (e.g., welding, grinding, cutting, heating) in the open air.
- Use of any machinery, vehicles, or equipment likely to cause or spread a bush fire (e.g. motorbikes, quad bokes or other motorised vehicles in bush or off-road areas including paddocks).
Permitted activities during the ban:
- Driving on gazetted roads.
- Using vehicles on cleared driveways or yards accessing residential, farming, or business premises.
- Emergency vehicle use to prevent immediate and serious risk to health or safety.
- Activities by individuals with a valid exemption under the Bush Fires Act 1954.
The ban will be reviewed periodically by the Shire of Dardanup's Chief Bush Fire Control Officer, Chris Hynes.
