The Shire of Dardanup's latest school holiday program has now finished, leaving kids and families buzzing with excitement. Over a span of two action-packed weeks, the program offered a lineup of 10 free events that had children and parents alike marking their calendars.

From Monday, September 25th, the program began at various locations across the shire including: Eaton Library, Burekup Hall, Eaton Skatepark, and Burekup Oval were the centres of fun, adventure, and learning.

Among the highlights were two educational and exciting Ryde Car Simulator sessions and a hands-on clinic hosted by Geographe Ford. Participants had the chance to hop into the Virtual Reality (VR) vehicle, not just for joyrides but to promote road safety. Participants also had the opportunity to learn the art of tire changes, oil checks, and other invaluable car maintenance skills. An obstacle course, tackled while wearing "bobble goggles" (fatigue goggles), served as a powerful reminder of the perils of driving when tired.

The Eaton Library opened its doors to young creative minds, hosting a delightfully gooey "Make your own Slime" workshop, a School Holiday Drawing class, a Mario Kart Challenge, and a much-anticipated Star Wars Quiz Night that drew a crowd.

One of the events came courtesy of Zoe, a member of the Youth Advisory Group (YAG), who led an eye-opening Rubix Cube Workshop. Participants were treated to a masterclass in solving the notoriously tricky puzzle, unlocking its secrets one twist at a time.

As the program drew to a close, a creepy and tricky Halloween Party, hosted by the YAG, welcomed over 50 attendees dressed in their most spooktacular costumes. The night was filled with games, snacks, and dancing, capping off a great series of activities designed to keep kids entertained during their school break.

Thanks to all who came along and participated in our Shire of Dardanup School Holidays Program.
