Eaton’s brand new $1 million skate park will provide a unique canvas for a dazzling digital art installation in October when the Shire of Dardanup launches ‘EnLighten’ – a creative new event designed to shed light on the places, people and moments that cultivate happiness in the community.
The playful exploration of light and digital technologies will come to life on the evening of Saturday, 1 October in partnership with Lotterywest and Illuminart, who have worked on similar projects across Australia, telling stories through light and specialising in projection and immersive media.
Using exciting projection technology, the team will produce a unique light installation that will wrap over the sculptural forms of the skatepark, transforming it into an immersive digital landscape.
Dardanup Shire President Mick Bennett called on people of all ages to get involved in the project by answering the project’s focus question: ‘What brightens your mood?’
Responses can be shared through words, photographs, videos or artworks and the community’s contributions will form the basis of the installation – A captivating and glowing display of images, words and artworks that combined will encourage us to think about mental health.
Council acknowledged Lotterywest for making the event possible through its $20,000 grant toward the project.

The new Eaton skatepark is set to come alive on the evening of Saturday 1 October 2022, as the Shire of Dardanup, in partnership with Illuminart, presents the digital art installation ‘Enlighten’.
Enlighten will see Eaton’s local skatepark become a canvas for creative expression. Exciting projection technology will transform the concrete forms into an immersive digital landscape.
Through playful exploration of light the goal is to shed light on mental health by encouraging people to explore our focus question ‘What brightens your mood?’.
The free event is suitable for all ages, bookings are not required. Food and drink options, and entertainment will accompany the display ensuring it will be an experience to remember.

We need your contributions to make Enlighten shine!
We are calling on people of all ages to take part in Enlighten by answering our focus question:
‘What brightens your mood?’
Your contributions will form the basis of the installation and what will evolve will be a captivating display of images, words and artworks encouraging us to think about mental health.
Your response to the focus question ‘What brightens your mood?’ can be expressed through a few simple words, images, videos, drawings, poems or artworks. How you choose to respond is up to you. We just ask that you ensure you have permission to use any images/video content you include. Your contributions will be reproduced for public viewing so we will not accept any inappropriate content.
How do I contribute?
1.Online – CLICK HERE: Upload something now, it’s quick and easy. You can upload an image, or simply type some words.
2.In person to any of the following locations:
