Eaton Fair expansion: footpath access update

Published on Thursday, 12 February 2026 at 2:27:38 PM

A section of verge and footpath along Eaton Drive is currently closed to enable works for the $100 million Eaton Fair Expansion being delivered by Citygate Properties.

These works by the site developer include demolition and civil construction required to upgrade key infrastructure within the precinct.

To maintain safe access for pedestrians, clear signage and alternative routes have been put in place. This section of footpath is expected to remain closed until January 2027 while construction progresses.

Pedestrians travelling to and from Eaton Fair can divert via the footpaths on the opposite side of Eaton Drive. Please take care when crossing and follow all posted signage and traffic management directions.

Although the works for the footpath closure were originally scheduled to begin last week, unexpected design matters caused a short delay.

The Shire understands these have now been resolved, and construction is expected to commence next week.

Thank you to our community for your patience and understanding during this period of change.
