Annual Community Meetings to foster engagement

The Shire of Dardanup will once again host its annual Community Meetings, a series of interactive forums aimed at fostering open dialogue between the community and Council.

Shire President Cr Tyrrell Gardiner said these meetings provide a valuable opportunity for residents to share their ideas, concerns, and aspirations directly with Councillors and Council staff.

Cr Gardiner highlighted the success of last year's Community Meetings and encouraged residents to attend one of the four being held in Eaton, Ferguson Valley, Dardanup and Burekup.

"The Community Meetings have proven to be an invaluable platform for our community members to actively participate in the decision-making process,” Cr Gardiner said.

“The constructive feedback we received last year played a crucial role in shaping our priorities and initiatives for the benefit of the entire community.

“Between the four meetings held throughout our Shire, there were 42 actions identified by those communities, with the majority completed or in progress.

“We saw requests range from more outdoor lighting for a local bushfire brigade station, to sporting club facilities needing equipment upgrades. Council wants to hear what our residents see as priorities to help build a stronger, more vibrant Shire.”

This year's Meetings will be held at the following locations:

Time: 5:30pm to 7:30pm

Ferguson Valley

Cr Gardiner said residents are encouraged to attend these meetings and actively engage in discussions on various topics that impact the community.

“The Shire of Dardanup believes in the power of collaboration and values the input of its residents in shaping the future of the region,” Cr Gardiner said.

“It’s also important to remind our residents that they can raise queries or express concerns with the Council at any time throughout the year.

"While the Community Meetings provide a structured platform for discussion, we want our community to know that their input is welcome year-round. We are here to listen and address any queries or concerns they may have.

“The Shire of Dardanup encourages all residents to participate in these meetings to contribute to the growth and development of the community.
