Explore, learn, and take action with Planet Matters, Eaton Library’s monthly environmental program! Each session dives into a different aspect of our local natural world — from native wildlife and wetlands to gardening, biodiversity, and sustainable living. You’ll also discover how citizen science lets you make a real difference in protecting our environment.
Happening on the 2nd Thursday of every month, Planet Matters is suitable for all ages and packed with interactive talks, hands-on activities, and expert insights. Come along, connect with nature, and find out how you can help care for our local environment — one small action at a time.

🌿 Planet Matters: Protecting Our Local Snake Neck Turtles
Join us at Eaton Library for this month’s Planet Matters session, where we’re thrilled to be joined by The Friends of Big Swamp.
This local group works tirelessly to protect Big Swamp and its wildlife, especially the turtles that call it home. Learn how they safeguard turtle nests, the challenges they face, and how you can get involved in protecting our precious wetland creatures.
You’ll also be introduced to TurtleSAT — a citizen science app designed to help track and protect turtle populations. By learning how to use this tool, you can be part of the solution and help ensure a safe future for our local turtles.
🧒 A turtle-themed activity/craft will be available to keep the little ones busy while you enjoy the presentation.
