The opportunity:
- Full-time
- Level 7/8 – salary range $95,872 - $109,207 per annum pro-rata depending upon qualifications and experience*
- Located at our Eaton Administration Centre

The Shire of Dardanup is at the centre of significant change and opportunity, with major projects such as the development of the city of Wanju, the Waterloo Industrial Park, and continued residential and employment growth across the region set to transform our community over the coming decades.
We're seeking an experienced planner who is looking to expand their career and directly influence the future development of our region. Working in a supportive and collaborative Development Services team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality planning outcomes while gaining exposure to strategic projects that are rarely available in local government planning roles.
What you’ll do:
- Assess and determine development applications, subdivision referrals and land administration matters
- Administer the Shire's Local Planning Scheme and associated planning framework
- Prepare professional planning reports and recommendations for Council and management
- Provide expert planning advice to Council, developers, consultants, residents and government agencies
- Assist with structure plans, scheme amendments, local planning policies and other strategic planning initiatives
- Contribute to major growth and development projects across the Shire
- Support planning compliance activities and respond to planning enquiries
- Represent the Shire in discussions with external stakeholders and agencies
About you:
- Degree qualification in Town Planning or related discipline
- Demonstrated statutory planning experience, ideally within local government or a similar planning environment
- Sound knowledge of Western Australian planning legislation and processes
- Strong analytical, report writing and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and commitment to delivering excellent customer outcomes
