SENIOR ENGINEERING TECHNICAL OFFICER

The opportunity: 

  • Full-time permanent position
  • Level 6/7 | $88,071 - $101,936 per annum*
  • Located at the Eaton Administration Building


Join a progressive and community-focused local government and help shape the future of one of Western Australia's fastest-growing regions. The Senior Engineering Technical Officer plays a key role in the planning, design and delivery of infrastructure projects that support our growing community. 

Working within the Infrastructure Planning & Design team, you will provide technical and engineering support across a diverse range of projects including roads, drainage, pathways, buildings, parks and reserves. You will assist with project design, cost estimation, consultant management, stakeholder engagement and capital works planning. 

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver technical advice and engineering solutions to support the Shire's capital works and infrastructure programs.
  • Prepare and coordinate concept designs, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for roads, drainage, pathways, buildings and community infrastructure projects.
  • Manage consultants, surveys and specialist investigations to support the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects.
  • Engage with residents, developers, government agencies and utility providers on infrastructure design and project matters.
  • Contribute to master planning, infrastructure upgrades and continuous improvement of the Shire's engineering standards, drawings and specifications. 

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Surveying or relevant public works engineering experience.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and strong computer and numerical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in infrastructure design, estimating and project coordination.
  • Sound understanding of engineering design standards and approval processes.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
