Gym Supervisor – Eaton Recreation Centre
The opportunity:
Work Type: Part-time – 12 hours per week (can be in conjunction to Fitness Coach hours).
Salary: Level 4 – $66,940 – $78,966 pro rata per annum* dependent on skills and experience.

Working closely with the Coordinator Fitness, you'll lead and mentor our Fitness Coaches and Personal Trainers, deliver engaging programs and member experiences, and keep our gym welcoming, safe and motivating — all while upholding our service commitment of "Exceptional Service, Every Customer, Every Interaction."
What you'll do:
- Support the daily operation of our 24/7 gym, maintaining a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for members and visitors.
- Provide professional support, guidance and assistance to members, Fitness Coaches and Personal Trainers.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate fitness programs, challenges, campaigns and member engagement activities that lift participation and retention.
- Lead, mentor and roster Fitness Coaches and Personal Trainers, supporting their development, qualifications and compliance.
- Proactively drive membership growth and support/initiate marketing ideas -gym challenges, new member acquisition campaigns and membership retention strategies.
- Prepare rosters, review timesheets and assist with recruitment, induction and ongoing development of fitness staff.
- Conduct routine inspections of fitness equipment and facilities, coordinating maintenance, servicing and stock control.
- Complete administration and reporting on attendance, participation, incidents, staffing and operational activities.
- Demonstrate and promote our customer service standards through responsive, professional and inclusive interactions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procedures, service standards and the member experience.
About you:
- Certificate III and IV in Fitness qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience working within a gym, fitness centre or recreation facility environment.
- Experience supervising, coordinating or mentoring staff.
- Experience developing exercise programs, fitness initiatives or member engagement activities.
- Strong understanding of fitness industry trends, exercise programming principles and member retention strategies.
- Experience preparing and maintaining staff rosters and coordinating workforce requirements.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the availability to work across a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings and occasional Saturday mornings, to support the team and peak period operations.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
