The opportunity:

  • 5 Year Full-time Performance Based Contract
  • Level 10 – Salary Range $114,654 - $130,780 per annum + superannuation - depending upon skills and experience
  • Vehicle/vehicle allowance including full private use as per Council policy
  • Located at our Eaton Administration Centre

We are seeking an experienced Manager Financial Services to join the team at the Shire of Dardanup. This full-time role is a key position within our local government organisation, responsible for leading and overseeing the Shire’s financial operations. The successful candidate will ensure strong financial management practices and compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, and provide leadership to a motivated and dedicated finance team.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the Shire's financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and statutory returns
  • Ensure the Shire's compliance with all relevant financial legislation and regulations
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the executive team and elected Council
  • Lead and manage the finance team, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Implement and maintain effective financial systems and controls
  • Collaborate with other departments to support the Shire's overall objectives

What we're looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a senior financial management role, preferably within local government
  • Extensive knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong strategic and leadership abilities, with the ability to manage a team
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering best-practice financial management
