Eaton Recreation Centre (ERC) is refreshing its Group Fitness offering and is looking for passionate instructors to help shape what comes next.
We're inviting experienced instructors, specialists and emerging fitness professionals to join our Expression of Interest Pool and bring their expertise, creativity and ideas to our community.
We're not just looking to fill classes — we're looking for instructors who can help us create classes our community wants to attend.

This is an opportunity to play a genuine role in shaping a more diverse, inclusive and engaging Group Fitness program at ERC.
We're open to new ideas, new formats and new ways of engaging our community. Whether you specialise in an established format or have an exciting new concept that you believe could work for our community, we want to hear from you.
We're particularly interested in, but not limited to:
- Yoga, Pilates and mobility.
- Dance and dance fitness.
- Breathwork, mindfulness and wellbeing.
- Les Mills programs.
- Strength, conditioning and functional fitness.
- Active ageing and low-impact programs.
- Parents and babies/postnatal-friendly classes.
- Family-friendly and community-focused programs.
- HIIT, circuits and cardio-based formats.
- New and emerging fitness concepts.

About the role
As a Group Fitness Instructor, you'll create welcoming, inclusive and engaging class experiences that motivate people to move, have fun and support their health and wellbeing.
You'll be responsible for delivering safe, enjoyable and effective sessions, building positive relationships with participants and creating an environment where people of all ages and abilities feel comfortable, supported and motivated.
Depending on your experience and class format, opportunities may include delivering established programs, introducing new classes or helping develop programs designed to engage different segments of our community.
We're particularly interested in instructors who can bring fresh ideas, specialist skills or class formats that could help us reach people who may not currently participate in group fitness.

- Competitive sessional rate of $64-67 per hour dependent on experience/qualification.
What we're looking for
We're looking for instructors who are passionate, engaging, reliable and community-minded, with the ability to create classes that people look forward to attending.
You will ideally have:
- Recognised qualifications relevant to the group fitness format you wish to deliver.
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
- Experience delivering engaging group fitness classes or programs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to motivate and connect with participants of varying ages, abilities and fitness levels.
- A welcoming and inclusive approach that makes participants feel comfortable and supported.
- The confidence to create an energetic, positive and enjoyable class environment.
- Current registration with AUSactive or another recognised industry body, where applicable.
We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate initiative, creativity and an understanding of what motivates different members of our community to participate.
About the expression of interest pool
This pool allows you to register your interest in delivering Group Fitness classes at ERC during 2026/27.
Applications will remain active until 30 June 2027, and suitable applicants may be contacted as opportunities arise.
Please note this is not a recruitment process for a specific class or vacancy. ERC will consider expressions of interest alongside community demand, timetable opportunities, available facilities and the suitability of proposed class formats. If a suitable opportunity becomes available, applicants may be invited to discuss their proposed class, availability and delivery arrangements as part of the recruitment process.
