The opportunity:

  • Part-time fixed term contract position (through to 30 June 2029)
  • 5 FTE (19 hours per week)
  • Level 6/7 | $88,071 - $101,936 per annum $44.57 - $51.59 per hour (pro rata)
  • Hosted by the Shire of Dardanup, located in Eaton WA

Hosted by the Shire of Dardanup, this exciting role works across the Bunbury Geographe region, developing and delivering innovative marketing campaigns, digital communications, public relations initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities that drive visitation, strengthen community pride and support the growth of the visitor economy.

About the role:

Working across the four member Councils of the Bunbury Geographe Group of Councils’ (BGGC) – City of Bunbury, Shire of Harvey, Shire of Capel and Shire of Dardanup, you will play a key role in implementing the strategic direction of the Bunbury Geographe Tourism Partnership and promoting the region across key domestic markets.

This exciting role will:

  • Develop and deliver destination marketing, communication and engagement strategies.
  • Coordinate digital marketing activities, including website content, social media, e-newsletters and EDMs and content creation.
  • Create compelling content and identify media opportunities that enhance the region’s profile and reputation.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local governments, industry groups, tourism operators and key stakeholders.
  • Implement campaigns that increase visitation, brand awareness and regional advocacy.
  • Monitor campaign performance, budgets and reporting to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.

 About you:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Relevant qualifications in marketing, communications, journalism, tourism or a related discipline, or substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Experience developing and implementing marketing, branding and communication strategies.
  • Strong digital marketing, content creation and storytelling skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with media and industry partners.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Passion for showcasing destinations and driving visitor outcomes.

The Destination Marketing and Engagement Officer plays a key role in delivering the Partnership's strategic objectives by leading marketing campaigns, digital communications, stakeholder engagement and destination promotion activities that showcase the unique experiences, landscapes and communities of the Bunbury Geographe region.
