The Shire of Dardanup’s newly constructed Library, Administration, and Community Building opened its doors to the public last Thursday, 21 March 2024.

Scheduled to become the new heart of municipal operations, the two-storey complex will house the Eaton Library, Council Chambers, Administration Centre, Café, and a state-of-the-art Make-It Space.

The new library also opened its doors to the public for the first time today, Tuesday, 26 March.

Members of the public are invited to a Community Open Day on Saturday, 4 May from 10 am-1 pm, which will include guided tours of the new building, a sausage sizzle, face painting, engaging library activities for children, and dynamic Make-It Space activations.

The new building recently claimed two distinguished awards at the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) Awards, receiving the Best Public Works Project Greater than $5 million Award (Regional) and the Excellence in Environment and Sustainability Award.

The new Library, Administration and Community Building was designed by Perth architect Peter Hobbs and constructed by local construction company Perkins Builders.
