Are you or your children competing at the highest level in a chosen field?
The Shire of Dardanup recognises the financial burden that can be placed on individuals and families competing at the highest level.
Whether you are musically, artistically or sports orientated – At times the costs involved in these endeavours becomes prohibitive.
Especially in regional locations where travel costs add another layer of expense.
That’s where the Shire of Dardanup’s Personal Development Grants can assist with funding of up to $400 available to help support eligible Shire of Dardanup residents.
Funding can be used to relieve some of the costs associated with competing at a State or National level.
The difference these grants can make to families was spelled out in an email we recently received from the father of two grant recipients:
‘As a family we would like to express our deepest thanks for the grants that you have given us for both my boys.
Between the two of them they have been nominated to represent WA in 6 national competitions and if it wasn’t for the generosity of the shire they may not have made it there.
Sending them away to compete is not cheap and it makes me proud to live in a shire that supports our kids and provides these grants.
I have not seen any other shire that provides these type of grants, and as my boys are at the age to be getting too old for junior competitions, I would like to encourage the shire to continue with these in the future for other families to enjoy the experiences my boys have had.’
Shire of Dardanup CEO Mark Chester said he and Shire Councillors were grateful to receive such positive feedback about the grants program and encouraged individuals to apply for funding.
Our Personal Development Grants are open all year round.
Applying is easy! You just need to submit an application and a supporting letter from the governing body you are representing PLUS reside within the Shire of Dardanup.
