Wanju and Waterloo plans re-open for public comment

Draft plans for areas of urban and industrial expansion within the Shire of Dardanup have been re-released by the WA Planning Commission for a further period of public comment.

Main Roads WA has reconsidered the proposed alignment of its Bunbury Outer Ring Road northern section which has resulted in implications for planning at both Wanju – set to be WA’s newest city – and Waterloo Industrial Park.

The initial draft Wanju Draft Strategic Plan was published for consultation in April 2016 and the initial draft Waterloo DSP in May 2017.

While the shift in the proposed BORR northern section alignment has implications to some of the proposals and layouts in Wanju and Waterloo, the fundamental land use planning principles set out in the initial draft DSPs remain unchanged.

The revised draft Wanju and Waterloo District Structure Plans are advertised for a 60-day period which closes on 10th May, 2019.
