  • Eaton Tennis Club
  • Dardanup Oval
  • Cadell Park

In line with most recent Federal Government directives around social distancing to contain spread of COVID-19, we have also had to close our Eaton Recreation Centre and Eaton Community Library to the public.

To help our community through this difficult time, we will THINK creatively and have come up with a range of measures to continue offering our services such as mobile library and moving our workshops and programs to online LIVE presentations that can be enjoyed from home.

To ensure the health and well-being of our community during the current health crisis and assist with adhering to current Government advice for social distancing, Council is asking residents who usually visit our Administration Centre, Eaton to consider opting for phone assistance instead.

Cleaning at all of our Shire facilities has been upgraded for added protection as the Federal Government works with the community to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Council is however concerned that current staff resources don’t allow cleaning to the level required to maintain the additional standards of hygiene at the Dardanup Library, Admin and Visitor Centre.

As such, the difficult decision has been made to temporarily close the Shire’s Dardanup office and library from 4:30pm today (Friday 20 March 2020) until further notice.

This follows the Ferguson Valley Marketing closure of the Visitor Centre.

It is recognised that ratepayers may have an increased need to access their local library over coming weeks due to recommendations for social distancing, prompting the decision to offer a mobile service.

The Shire is working on introducing the mobile library service as soon as possible which will be offered to residents in Burekup and Dardanup.

Shire of Dardanup Chief Executive Officer Andre Schönfeldt assured residents that any enquiries or business they might have previously undertaken at the Dardanup Office can be completed over the phone by calling or attending the Administration Centre in Eaton.

The Eaton office and library continue to be well staffed and our customer service officers will be very happy to assist residents over the phone.

The Shire of Dardanup is committed to a THINK creative approach to the current health crisis and has introduced a raft of measures to support our community at this difficult time. Visit this previous post to our website for full details.
