Last trips of the three-month rural bus service trial between Dardanup, Burekup and Eaton will occur tomorrow, Saturday, June 30.
Due to low passenger numbers recorded on the Tuesday and Saturday routes during the trial, the service will not be able to continue.
Community interest for a rural bus service into Eaton was listed among feedback received during last year’s six-week community consultation process undertaken by the Shire of Dardanup.
Earlier this year, Council agreed to provide $13,000 towards the trial in an attempt to gauge demand for an ongoing service.
The Public Transport Authority was contracted to provide the trial service and will provide Council with a report upon completion.
