Running for Council? Here’s what you need to know…

Nominations for Council open for one week on Thursday, September 7, closing on September 14 at 4.00pm.

To nominate, Candidates need to lodge the following items with appointed election Returning Officer Stella Wallace:

  • Completed nomination in the prescribed form, signed and witnessed
  • One A4 page profile containing not more than 150 words of information about the candidate
  • Nomination deposit of $80 (cash, bank cheque or postal order)
  • Recent passport-sized photograph (optional).

The documents can be hand delivered, posted or faxed to the Returning Officer and must be received by the close of nominations.

Nominations can be hand delivered to the Returning Officer during the nomination period by arrangement OR between 2.00pm and 4.00pm on Thursday, September 14 at the Shire of Dardanup Administration Centre, Eaton -1 Council Drive, Eaton.

Nomination forms can be accessed via the Electoral Commission’s online system Nomination Builder which provides help with completing the form and profile.

Once Candidates complete their form and profile through Nomination Builder they will be able to print it out with allocated reference number and lodge with the Returning Officer.
