Planning for a new skatepark in Eaton has taken a step forward with the Shire of Dardanup seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to collect community input and then come up with a conceptual design and costing for the proposed new facility.
A shortlist of preferred applicants will be invited to submit formal tenders for the work after the initial EOI process.
A new skatepark will be built at Glen Huon Reserve between the playground and Football Pavilion following adoption by Council at its meeting on June 27, 2018 of its project working group’s recommendation.
The reserve location was identified as the most suitable location for the new skatepark due to the potential for creation of an activity zone encompassing the playground that caters for a range of ages in close proximity to the town centre.
Expression of Interest applications closed on January 18, 2019.
Council’s working group is also investigating options for expanding the Eaton Recreation Centre with new indoor or outdoor courts plus additional parking.
Stay tuned for further updates as this project progresses…
