We’re looking for community members who ‘THINK community’!

Passionate, creative and dynamic thinkers who want to participate more actively in the future of their communities.

At its meeting on 24 November, Council declared all community representative positions on its Advisory Groups vacant and requested CEO André Schönfeldt seek nominations from residents and ratepayers to fill the positions until October, 2023.

Existing Advisory Group members are also encouraged to apply for a second term. Council is seeking nominations for membership of the following Place-based and Topic-based Advisory Groups:

  • Burekup
  • Dardanup
  • Eaton/Millbridge
  • Ferguson Valley & Surrounds
  • Roadwise
  • Sustainability
  • Economic Development
  • Community Development
  • Sport & Recreation

Dardanup Shire President Mick Bennett said the Community Engagement Policy and its associated Advisory Groups recognised an increased expectation from the community for more direct involvement in Council decision-making.

Cr Bennett said not only was greater transparency and engagement with our community expected, it was also good business practice for Council.

“Successful engagement can improve strategic planning and service delivery, ensuring that Council is addressing the priorities of the community while increasing community support and collaboration,” Cr Bennett said.
