Got an idea to improve your community?

Look around our Shire and you will see examples everywhere of projects and facilities sparked initially by a community member contacting us with an idea.

From our Burekup and Dardanup skateparks to the Eaton Boomers Football Pavilion to small changes like installation of a barbecue or improvements to accessibility at our playgrounds.

Helping develop community ideas into reality is a satisfying outcome for Council and we are always keen to receive new ones.

There are several mechanisms for presenting an idea to Council which will ensure the most efficient initial response to the feasibility of your idea and potentially, the best possible outcome.

First of all, it is a great idea to phone our Administration Centre, Eaton or Dardanup Office and have a chat about your idea with one of our friendly staff members. Phone: 9724 0000.

The Shire of Dardanup’s Annual Report 2020/21 will be presented to an Annual Elector’s Meeting being held at the Eaton Football Pavilion on Tuesday, 25 January at 7.00pm.

Members of the public are invited to attend and are asked to submit questions or motions relating to the report in writing prior to the meeting.

The Annual Report, as well as providing important data on Council’s financial position, is an insight into activity undertaken by the Shire of Dardanup on behalf of its community during the past financial year.

Annual Report 2020/21

Hard copies of the Annual Report 2020/21 are available for viewing at the Administration Centre – Eaton, Eaton Community Library and Dardanup Library.

The meeting is also an opportunity for community members to put forward their ideas to elected members.

Questions or motions from the public should be provided, where possible, in writing and received at the Shire Office no later than 4pm, Friday, January 24, 2020.

Council’s series of Place-Based Advisory Groups – established in 2019 under a new Community Engagement Policy – met throughout 2020/2021 and provided important input on various projects and decision-making.

If you are passionate about your community and want to get involved please make sure that you nominate onto an advisory group.

Agendas and Notes from all of Council’s Place-Based and Topic-Based Advisory Groups can be found on this page of our website.

If you would like to first gauge community support for your idea you might like to start a petition.

However a petition to Council is a legal document and must be submitted in a particular format before it can be accepted and acted upon by Council Staff.

Please use THIS TEMPLATE for creation of your petition and once signatures have been collected, please submit your petition in hardcopy format to the

Administration Centre, Eaton and addressed to the CEO.

Finally, stay tuned for invitations being released soon to become a member of one of Council’s newly formed Advisory Groups.

We look forward to hearing from you.
