New Transfer Station recycling bins

Large recycling bins have been installed at the Banksia Road Transfer Station.

Their addition to facilities will hopefully increase the rate of recyclables collected and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.

Normal waste drop-off fees apply for residents wanting to use the bins

Earlier this month, the Shire of Dardanup reported that for the first time in four years, the 12-month amount of recyclables collected in 2017/18 had almost doubled.

And in addition, the amount of domestic refuse collected and taken to landfill had recorded a significant drop.

That means we’re getting better at recycling!

Fees for waste drop-off at the Banksia Road Transfer Station as outlined in Council’s standard Fees & Charges are:

  • Wheelie Bin: $4.00
  • Ute: $12.00
  • Trailer not exceeding 1.8m by 1.2m: $20.00
  • Large trailer: $24.00

Also just a reminder that if you find your yellow-topped recycling bin is always overflowing, you can order a second one for $68 per year. Just phone 9724 0000 to place an order.
