- What features does it need?
- What level of difficulty?
A new skatepark will be built at Glen Huon Reserve between the playground and Football Pavilion following adoption by Council at its meeting on 27 June, 2018 of its project working group’s recommendation.
The reserve location was identified as the most suitable for the new skatepark due to the potential for creation of an activity zone encompassing the playground that caters for a range of ages in close proximity to the town centre.
Consideration will need to be given by the designers to the size of the space allocated for the new skatepark and Council’s need to seek support from external funding sources towards construction.
Shire of Dardanup CEO André Schönfeldt said he hoped a design would be ready for presentation to the community for comment and Council for consideration mid-year.
Once a design is adopted, a one-year period would be allocated to source funding grants with construction potentially underway by the end of next year.
