Stage One in a series of improvements taking place over the next three months to realign and reconstruct Council Drive in Eaton is moving into a new phase.
The beginning of Stage Two will be marked by the opening of a new access to our Administration Centre from Monday, June 14.
From this point, you can arrive at our carpark via the Hamilton Road roundabout on Eaton Drive rather than Recreation Drive, as has been the case in recent weeks.
Access to the Football Pavilion however will be maintained via the usual entry from Recreation Drive.
Please stay tuned to our updates in coming weeks as the location of works on Council Drive moves closer to our Glen Huon Playground.
This will be an exciting time for transformation of the Eaton Activity Centre as construction of our new $1 million Eaton Skatepark gets underway in late June/early July.
As a result of all the construction taking place in the area, we will unfortunately need to close our playground for approximately one month in July/August.
We’ll let you know specific dates as soon as we can but we’re hoping the winter timing means we won’t have too many of our smaller residents and visitors disappointed.
Dardanup Shire President Mick Bennett said Eaton Fair, its contractors and Shire Staff were all working together to ensure the period of interruption to usual traffic flows was completed as quickly and as efficiently as possible, while ensuring easy access to community facilities in the area is maintained.
“Please exercise additional caution when driving or walking through the affected areas and stay tuned via our website and Facebook page for rolling updates,” Cr Bennett said.
These changes to Council Drive will be an important stepping stone towards delivering the improvements set out under the Eaton Fair Activity Centre Plan approved by Council in 2017 and subsequently endorsed by the WA Planning Commission.
