Quotes for the supply and installation of a replacement playground on Glen Huon Reserve opposite Eaton Fair are being sought by the Shire of Dardanup.
The existing playground needs to be moved slightly north of its current position to accommodate changes to the area under the $4.4 million Glen Huon Redevelopment.
An assessment of the playground equipment revealed it was nearing the end of its useable life and the opportunity for a simple relocation was limited.
Council has therefore agreed to investigate the cost of brand new equipment.
Once quotations are sourced, Council’s Eaton Townscape Committee will select a design taking budget considerations into account.
Community input on a playground design will also be sought before a final decision is made.
The Shire of Dardanup has applied for a Royalties for Regions grant to assist with the cost of the new playground.
We’ll keep you posted on this project as it develops further…
