The Shire of Dardanup is offering residents between the age of 13 to 18 years of age the opportunity to receive a full scholarship to participate in a 3 day Bush Adventure Learning Program with Right Foot Forward.

The Bush Adventure Learning Program provides opportunities for young people to engage in practical learning in the natural environment. Think simplifying life to our most basic needs – food, water, air, shelter and warmth. The expedition nature of the program allows the time and space for young people to take responsibility for their journey, themselves and one another with time relevant only to day and night.

During the 3-day camp based in the Boranup Forest, young people will hike between campsites and are involved in cooking their own meals, setting up camp and a number of outdoor activities including:

  • Caving
  • Team building activities
  • Camping
  • Hiking
  • Aboriginal culture sessions

Right Foot Forward WA was borne out of Jocelyn Evans passion and belief in the outcomes gained from adventure based learning and her desire to see all people have access to opportunities like the Bush Adventure Learning Camps. Jocelyn has 18 years’ experience in the Outdoor Education industry, 3 years’ experience as a Youth Worker and is passionate about developing programs based on the principles of Bush Adventure Therapy.

We are excited to welcome on board the Eaton Lions Club as a sponsor of two scholarships within this program! The Lions Clubs are part of community life, in the cities and in the country. Clubs are easily identified by their distinctive Logo, the trademark of their International Association, and the ‘We Serve’; motto. Lions Australia is part of an international association, filled with people who are joined by the common desire to make their communities better, by using their creativity, enthusiasm and energy. Membership is open to all people of the community in good standing. Every Lions Club is a little different. Each has its own mix of activities and meetings.
