Eight candidates will compete for five vacancies on the Dardanup Shire Council during the October 16 Local Government Election.
Nominations to stand for election closed yesterday (Thursday, September 9) and the draw for ballot positions was subsequently conducted in Council Chambers.
Nominating for a position on Council in alphabetical order are:

- Carmel Boyce
- Tyrrell Gardiner
- Luke Davies
- Janice Dow
- Frank Faulkner
- Ellen Lilly
- Annette Webster

Dardanup Shire Council uses the postal voting system for elections which are conducted by the WAEC.
Postal voting packages will be posted out week beginning 17 September, 2021.
Local government elections are conducted using the ‘first past the post’ system. This means the result of an election is determined by simply counting the number of votes received by each candidate and the candidates with the most votes win until all vacancies are filled.
