We’re working to deliver your 2050 Vision.
In doing so, we’re planning for the future of Eaton & Millbridge.
The 2050 document sets out the following vision for our shire:
“In 2050, the Shire of Dardanup will be a HEALTHY, SELF-SUFFICIENT and SUSTAINABLE community that is CONNECTED and inclusive and where our culture and INNOVATION are celebrated.”
Now with the help of the Eaton Advisory Group we have prepared a draft Community Facilities Plan which aims to achieve these aspirations for this urban part of the shire.
The Plan includes projects and actions that will be like stepping stones toward helping us achieve the Vision.
We’re asking you to contribute feedback on the projects and actions included in the Plan.
One of the key projects aimed at creating a more physically connected community is the upgrading of intersections along Eaton Drive.
Within the next 10 years, there will be another 4,000 cars travelling along Eaton Drive every day!
This is what we’ve been planning for and over the next five years we’ll be undertaking three major intersection upgrades:
- Glen Huon Boulevard traffic lights
- Hamilton Road Roundabout upgrade
- Forrest Highway additional right turn lane (Main Roads WA project)
These upgrades will aim to ensure the traffic flows continue to deliver community members into our vibrant Eaton Activity Centre, as well as dispersing them to neighbouring regional centres such as Bunbury and Australind.
Shopping Centre Displays
To chat with staff specifically about the future of Eaton Drive, visit our pop-up display on at Eaton Fair every day between Wednesday, July 14 and Tuesday, July 20 between 10.00am and 1.00pm. That includes Saturday and Sunday! See the list of planned projects for Eaton Drive below.
You can also contribute to our Eaton Community Consultation (Eaton Drive & Eaton/Millbridge Community Facilities Plan) by visiting our Connect platform.
Providing your input on Council decision-making has never been easier or more convenient with our exciting new online tool called ‘Connect’ which uses a community engagement platform called Social PinPoint. Think Facebook, meets Pinterest meets Google Earth.
Now sharing your ideas, providing input, indicating your level of support and even discussing the future of your town with friends and neighbours will be as easy as posting a comment on social media.
Burekup and Dardanup residents used ‘Connect’ to finalise their Community Facilities Plans recently and Ferguson Valley and surrounds communities have recently completed the engagement towards the development of their Plan.
If you are not able to access ‘Connect’ on the internet, a hard copy of the draft Plan will also be available for viewing at the Dardanup Shire Office in Little Street, Dardanup and the Eaton Shire Office at 1 Council Drive, Eaton.
Submissions can be delivered to the Shire office or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org and close on Monday August 9, 2021.
