Serpentine-Jarrahdale Director of Development Services Andre Schönfeldt has been appointed the new Shire of Dardanup CEO, replacing Mark Chester who announced his resignation in May after 22 years of service.

Shire President Mick Bennett said Mr Schönfeldt was appointed yesterday following a unanimous decision by Council and will begin his new position on March 1, 2019.

Mr Schönfeldt has previously undertaken Acting CEO roles and was also the Director Development Services at the Shire of Broome.

“Andre has a wealth of experience in planning and corporate services,” Mr Bennett said.

“All results of my referee checking has been nothing but excellent on all fronts. I’m absolutely certain we have the right person for the job.”

Mr Bennett said applications were received for the position from around Australia and even overseas.

A committee of three Shire of Dardanup Councillors plus a WALGA representative undertook the selection and interview process prior to Council’s final decision.
